Wooden Walkway and Steps Down to the Dock

A new walkway and steps built down a lakefront slope to the dock, with a rope handrail along the way.

Getting down a steep bank to the dock is no fun on wet clay. This job added a wooden walkway with built-in steps that runs from the yard down to the water, with posts and a rope handrail on one side.

The photos show the new treated boards stepping down the slope, the landscaping on each side, and the walkway passing the rock that protects the shoreline. Walkways like this are built a lot like a deck, with solid posts and framing under the boards.
