Lakefront Deck Rebuild With Wire-Panel Railings

New deck boards and wire-panel railings on a three-story lake house, built to keep the view of the water wide open.

Rebuilt lakefront deck with patio furniture

On this lake house, the deck rebuild was all about the view. New pressure-treated deck boards went down along the length of the house, and the railings use wire panels between the posts so you can see the water from a chair.

The photos show the finished upper deck with its new boards, the railing running along the house, and the deck set up with patio furniture looking out over the lake. Treated lumber like this should be given a few months to dry before it is stained or sealed.

If your deck has soft boards or a wobbly railing, our deck repair page covers the warning signs. Planning something new? See deck building.
